Launching a new series of outdoor furniture designed by seminal figure Jens Risom, Design Within Reach wanted a film to capture the irreverance of Risom’s own humble style and approach to relaxing. We created this “masterplan to relaxation” shot at the home he built for his family on Block Island. To best capture the beautiful colors and natural light of the Risom House, we shot the film on 16mm, which added a touch of nostalgia to mirror the rose tinted glasses through which we often remember happy times.
